Teaching

I enjoy teaching mathematics through extensive problem solving and visual intuition. My teaching experience includes coaching students in preparation for national mathematics competitions in Russia, and serving as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate optimization course.

Reading Groups

  • Applications of Linear Algebra
Directed Reading Group (DRP 26) — Rice University, Spring 2026
Organized a directed reading group on applications of linear algebra, with an emphasis on geometry, algorithms, and optimization. The group was centered around selected readings from:
    • J. Matoušek, B. Gärtner “Understanding and Using Linear Programming”
    • J. Matoušek “Thirty-three Miniatures: Mathematical and Algorithmic Applications of Linear Algebra”,
along with short papers on the role of determinants in linear algebra.

Teaching Experience

  • Tapia Camps at Rice University
    Mathematics Instructor — Summer 2025
Taught Techniques of a Pro Mathematician, a week-long course for high-school students on mathematical problem solving, proof strategies, and the core principles to learn and do mathematics more efficiently and effectively.

  • CMOR 360: Introduction to Optimization and Operations Research
Teaching Assistant, Rice University — Spring 2025
Held recitation sessions and office hours, created and graded assignments, and helped students with course material in optimization and operations research.

  • Lyceum “The Second School”
Competitive Mathematics Coach — September 2021 to May 2022
Led two weekly two-hour classes for students preparing for the Russian National Mathematics Olympiad and other regional mathematics competitions.
