Teaching

My teaching and mentoring experience includes undergraduate courses in mathematics and optimization, directed reading groups, and coaching high-school students in preparation for national mathematics competitions in Russia.

Teaching and Mentoring Experience

  • Teaching Assistant — MATH 221: Honors Calculus III
    Rice University · Fall 2026
Hold office hours, lead recitation sessions, and run weekly proof-writing tutorials for groups of 3-4 students.

  • Directed Reading Program Organizer — Applications of Linear Algebra
    Rice University · Spring 2026
Organized a directed reading group on applications of linear algebra, with an emphasis on geometry, algorithms, and optimization (see schedule and topics). Selected readings included:

    • J. Matoušek and B. Gärtner, Understanding and Using Linear Programming
    • J. Matoušek, Thirty-three Miniatures: Mathematical and Algorithmic Applications of Linear Algebra
    • Sheldon Axler, “Down with Determinants!”, American Mathematical Monthly 102 (1995), 139–154
  • Mathematics Instructor — Techniques of a Pro Mathematician
Tapia Camps, Rice University · Summer 2025
Taught a week-long course for high-school students on mathematical problem solving and proof strategies.

  • Teaching Assistant — CMOR 360: Introduction to Optimization and Operations Research
    Rice University · Spring 2025
Held recitation sessions and office hours, created and graded assignments, and assisted students with course material.

  • Competitive Mathematics Coach
Lyceum “The Second School” · September 2021–May 2022
Led two weekly two-hour classes for students preparing for national and regional mathematics competitions.
